   Therapist Description:

   I am a self-employed massage therapist & certified athletic trainer. I am currently in school for my Master's Degree in Oriental Medicine. This includes acupuncture, herbs, & nutrition. I travel to clients' homes to provide my massage services. I specialize in myofascial release, deep tissue, sports massage, relaxation massage, pregnancy massage, & general therapeutic massage. I have worked in a physical therapy setting for 8 years. My youngest client was 8 years old & my oldest 103. I have worked with professional athletes all the way to everyday people who value the effects of massage for stress reduction. I've also worked at corporate sites for a professional sports team, medical offices, & general business offices. I have also worked spa parties & holiday parties. My massage style is to work into the muscle as needed. I use a simple, but extremely effective technique called strain/counterstrain to relieve trigger points. Over my several years of experience I don't believe in CPR-massage & pressing so hard the client can't breathe. Or, on the other end of the spectrum I don't believe in just marinating my clients. ;) Ultimately, this is your massage, so pressure & the type of massage (i.e. therapeutic vs relaxation, etc.) is completely up to you. Also, I'm very flexible as well. If you need some therapeutic work in one area & relaxation for the rest of the session is completely acceptable.
